Tips for Turning Your Basement into a Man Cave

The summer is almost here and that means that you are in even bigger need of a proper man cave. Allowing you to unleash your true manpower and enjoy all of your man-hobbies, such as drinking and sports or playing video games, the man cave has turned into an essential room in the homes of every dad-loving family. With this in mind, and in case you are moving to Pittsburgh, here are a few tips on how to turn your basement into a man cave.

1. Insulate and Sound-Proof

Of course, cleaning your basement first is a given, but we believe that it should be obvious enough. That being said, make sure to insulate and soundproof your basement. You can do so by installing fiberglass or other insulation material between the wall studs. This will also make your basement warmer!
2. Decorate

Once you are done with the soundproofing, make sure that you decorate your man cave exactly how you imagined it. This means putting up wallpaper or painting the walls and installing furniture. Note that to turn your basement into a man cave, it is crucial for you to have a nice couch or other comfortable seating. Make finding awesome décor and seating a priority for your man cave after you move to Pittsburgh.

3. Put a TV

There isn’t a single man cave without a TV, except maybe Ron Swanson’s man cave! But jokes from 2010 aside, do make sure to put a nice TV or a screen where you can enjoy your entertainment. Also don’t forget to install a small fridge or a bar for your cold drinks.
