It is what any medieval lover looks forward to all year long, and it is back! The annual Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is fun, free, and will leave you missing the middle ages. This year’s festival began at the end of August and will continue through the remainder of September. Offering free parking and many discounted tickets, this festival is affordable for anybody.
If you have just finished a move to Pittsburgh and are a renaissance fan, this is for you! It may be difficult to find a community you fit in with right after a move. If dueling and jousting are for you, than this festival is sure to find you some great friends to share your interests with. Get familiar with the event, there are many contests to participate in, to get your name out there!
The festival is filled with the medieval vibe that you may know and love. There are of course your everyday duelers and classic entertainers but get ready to be satisfied with the rest of the performers you will find at this year’s festival. There are three daily jousting performances that are presented by “Noble Cause Productions”. Comedy shows are offered by “Ye Klass Klowne” and “The Washing Well Wenches”. You can find fire eaters, musicians, and much other entertainment throughout the festival!
There is something for everyone throughout the festival. September 24 and 25 fall on the Oktoberfest weekend! This weekend will definitely bring in a various crowd, making The Renaissance Festival a great place to hang out after your move to Pittsburgh.
