Do you need some fresh air after spending a little too much time indoors with your Pittsburgh moving company? Then head on over to the new Pittsburgh park; with over 660 acres, you will have no problem getting as much fresh air as you need.

A month ago, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh gave the go-ahead on a payment of $5 million in order to lock down over 660 acres of land for a new Pittsburgh park. Initially purchased by Pittsburgh Development Group II, the original owner planned to build a horse track and casino on the site; however, those plans did not work out, and in turn the development group agreed to donate the property to the local community at well below its market value.

Mayor Bill Peduto issued a statement expressing his gratitude for the generous donation; he shared, “This tremendous gift – one of the largest ever to Pittsburgh or any other city – is a perfect way to further celebrate the city’s 200th birthday. It will preserve hundreds of acres of untouched urban forest for generations, and underscore the City’s ongoing work to preserve and protect our environment.”

The new Pittsburgh park is set to become the largest in the city, filled with miles of streams, several deep valleys, and at least one waterfall. Needless to say, everyone from new residents, Pittsburgh locals, and your local Pittsburgh moving company are counting down the days until this new Pittsburgh park opens.
